Seahouses Bay

Seahouses Bay was a 'hood I developed for upload to MTS - but due to never explained interference from one or more upload moderators it never happened. But I'm still playing it :)

If anyone is interested, the original clean, initially populated hood can be downloaded here N303 - Seahouses Bay

I shall try and find all the old upload text and images, and then trawl through all my old posts looking for related short story snippets and collate them all here.

The real Seahouses is a small fishing town in the very North of England that I know well from scuba diving. My other favourite area to dive was the West coast of Southern Eire, hence the strong Gaelic influence to the names.

An out-of-date family tree for the whole hood can be found starting here - something else I need to update

Requires Base + Uni + OFB + NL

Background

"As the fishing dwindled and the youngsters moved away to college, never returning from the bright lights and bustle of the cities, Seahouses was slowly fading into obscurity.

That was until the military base opened over the ridge and a developer saw a way to make a quick profit by building off-base accommodation around the bay.

Will the new developments be the saviour or final nail in the coffin for Seahouses?"

Family Bios

O'Mally - Seahouses Bay

Sean: We moved here from the city for the healthier living several years back when the new town was just being developed. Rather hoped Mum would help Kat with the new baby - Patrick - back then ... perhaps the air here is a little too healthy!
Katheryne: You mean when I'm not giving birth? I like to potter around the garden, trimming the bushes and planting seeds.
Patrick: We've got a beach ... and woods ... and a SECRET military base with SPY planes and SPECIAL FORCES choppers!
Dougal: NEED potty!
Flora: Burble!

O'Mally/Cassidy - Seahouses

Wes: WHAT? No way! The brat got the house? Hope she's good at DIY! Time to move on I guess ...
Freya: That scoundrel, 'Handyman' in deed! How could Granny do this to us ... the shame on our family. He's got to go ... but the - my - house is such a mess, how will I ever get it back to a liveable state?
Wes: ... but to where? And I suppose I do owe it to Fi to finish her house.
Freya: But he is kinda cute ... and I'll need someone to help pay the bills while I finish school ... perhaps I'll let him stay ... just while I get myself sorted.
Fiona: WOOHOO!!! At least I went out smiling!

Cassidy - Seahouses

Michael: The village's not the same ... but the new town has stopped the slide into oblivion as the youngsters were leaving for the city. My grand-son means well, but he's a bit ... misdirected.

Cassidy - Family Bin

Hamish: Donna felt ... 'trapped', and insisted we moved back to the city. She's much better now, especially since Mandy ... perhaps we'll move back one day.
Donna: Pah! Only when we inherit his father's house!
Mandy: It would be nice to live near the beach, but all my friends are in the city, so I can't decide. Either's fine by me really.

Mulligan - Seahouses

Donal: Uh! What's that?
Rachel: Don't mind him, he's not been the same since the terrible tragedy. The drowning of course. His son, his son's wife and their youngest girl, terrible, terrible. But we still have Ronan, now that he's back from college ... and even brought some friends with him. Nice to see new faces in the town. But I could talk all day. Fancy a cup of tea? No? I have freshly baked biscuits.
Ronan: Yeah, my college dormies have moved here ... in one of the new town houses. It was their house-warming party last night ... got 'crashed' by the military guys and gals around midnight ... things got kinda wild after that.

Sergeant/Legrand - Seahouses Bay

Paul: Oh my head! Why is it so bright? What am I wearing!
Ben: House-warming? More like house-wrecking, but what a great bunch the military guys ... and girls ... are. Jessie left her bubble-blower ... I'll take it back tonight ... who knows.
Melissa: Oh no! It can't be! But which one's the father?

Omer - Family Bin

Tobias: College - tick. Job prospects - good. Married childhood sweetheart - tick. Children - definitely, at least 2 possibly 4 and soon.
Abby: College was fun, Toby needs to lighten up ... was the quick wedding such a good idea? I want to do so many things before settling down and starting a family!

Flynn - Seahouses (Graveyard Groundsman)

Liam: I'll be joining this lot soon. But until then I'll keep things tidy as there are so few of us locals left.

McKay - Seahouses Bay

Jessie: The town? The old part's quaint and stuffy, the new estate is very ... regimented. Lolz, how appropriate for a town being revitalised by the expanding military base. But, there are some "cuties" to amuse me ... speaking of which, I really need to get my bubble blower back.

Atkins - Seahouses Bay

Will: YES SIR! Very nice town and estate. Anything else sir?
Mike: No, not the military ...
Will: ... of course you will!
Mike: ... more arty

Stuart - Seahouses Bay

Alistair: Great town, close to the base, wonderful place to raise our children and continue the family military tradition
Jane: We just love it here.
Zach: Goo goo!

Reilly - Family Bin

Siobhán: I was young ... an intern at a big law firm and he was ... is ... I go 'mushy' just thinking about him! I was silly, of course he'd never have left his wife ... she had the money. But he's set me up and hopefully I can start a new life where my great-grand-parents were so happy.
Keira: Wanna play SSX3? Or I have lots of other toys and cool stuff!

Olfonse - Seahouses

Brandon: About as low as you go ... the company was bought out ... I was surplus to requirements. Then she discovered my indiscretion and threw me out with nothing but a single simolean. I doubt Siobhán will want me now ... I don't even have her number ... but I'm here (with my single simolean) ... and I will re-gain my true love, my child and my fortune!

Social Groups

Original Seahouses Residents

Formed around the "Seahouses Salties", the childhood gang of Sean O'Mally, Hamish Cassidy and Geoff Mulligan.

In addition to these three, it includes their parents (Shamus and Fiona O'Mally, Michael and Hannah Cassidy, and Donal and Rachel Mulligan), childhood sweathearts (now wives) (Donna Cassidy and Susanna Mulligan) and children born in Seahouses (Ronan and Violet Mulligan), as well as their nemesis Liam Flynn

This group was deeply affected by the tragic sailing accident that drowned Geoff, Susanna and Violet Mulligan

Military Personnel

Jessie McKay, Will Atkins, Alistair Stuart and Jane Stuart all met in boot-camp. Jessie and Alistair were fast-tracked through officer training. Jessie and Will deployed together before arriving in Seahouses Bay.

Mums and Tots

Kat O'Mally and Jane Stuart meet at post-natal classes. Consequently their younger children (Dougal and Flora O'Mally and Zach Stuart) also know each other.

School Bus

There is only one school bus, so Freya and Patrick O'Mally, Mike Atkins and Alon McArthur (paperboy) all know each other.

College Roomies

Melissa Legrand, Ben and Paul Sergeant and Ronan Mulligan were all roomies at college/university and are good friends

House-Warming Party

Ben, Paul and Melissa had a house-warming party last night, so all the following have met Melissa Legrand, Ben and Paul Sergeant, Ronan Mulligan, Wes Cassidy, Jessie McKay, Will Atkins and Jane Stuart

Wes Cassidy

Wes with his boyish good looks, easy going nature, and being local "odd-job man" is his own little social whirl-wind. He has varying relationships with Fiona, Sean, Kat and Freya O'Mally, and also Jessie McKay (who he helped move in) and Jane Stuart (who he met at the house-warming party)

The Fall and Rise of Brandon Olfonse

Brandon has fallen just about as far as he can. Living in the old bus shelter (the service was discontinued years ago) with a few items he's acquired from fly-tips and skips, he lies awake at night, listening to the rain on the roof, dreaming ...
... of marrying his one true love (and mother of his child)
... of having four children and several grand-children
... of being the best at what he does
... and of living "happily-ever-after" in the Bay View Villa
never let it be said that Brandon doesn't set himself high targets!

But Brandon has changed (for the better) and has set himself some standards ...
... he will not date anyone but Siobhan, or WooHoo out of wedlock
... he will not even contact Siobhan until he has a job and a real home
... he will not propose engagement until he has (at least) a level 5 job, earnt $50k and a home on a 2x3 plot
... he will not propose marriage until he has (at least) a level 7 job and earnt $100k

Brandon doesn't have to pay bills while at the bus shelter, so the only permitted cheat is to either delete them or give him just enough money to pay them.
