Installing A Sims2Tools App

There is no installer, simply unzip the application download to a directory. This will create a sub-directory of the apps name and version number.

Running The App

Double-click the .exe file to start the application.

If MS-Windows displays the following alert ...

... click on the "More info" link and click the "Run anyway" button.

If the application does not start, right-click the .exe file and select "Properties".

On the General tab, if there is an "Unblock" box ...

... tick it and then click the OK button.

Updating

All general app info (window position, selected options, etc) is stored in the registry, so there is no need to overwrite a previous version of the app with the latest one, you can just unzip it into a new sub-directory.

Any customised config files can then be copied from the old app version to the latest.

Uninstalling

Simply delete the app's sub-directory.

If you want to, you can also delete the app's sub-key from the "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WHoward\Sims2Tools" registry.
